Millennium Leisure Travels Inc. was charged with one (1) count of operating as a travel agent without being registered. TICO has also charged Mr. Kailan Ariyarajah with one (1) count of operating as a travel agent without being registered, and one (1) count of being an Officer and Director of a Corporation and failing to take reasonable care to prevent the Corporation from committing an offence, in this case, for operating without TICO registration. It is alleged that Mr. Ariyarajah continued to operate Millennium Leisure Travels Inc. after the company’s TICO registration was revoked on May 1, 2019. Mr. Ariyarajah will appear in court at 60 Queen Street West in Toronto, Ontario on February 20, 2020 at 9 am.

Michael Shane Adams
Michael Shane Adams was charged with one (1) count of operating as a travel agent without being registered. The charge against Mr. Adams alleges: between March 1, 2018 and November 20, 2019, Mr. Adams arranged overnight accommodations for consumers in the Niagara Region; Mr. Adams conducted business under names including: Niagara Smart Stays, Smart Stays and Executive Leasing; and the properties in question were short-term accommodation rentals and were not owned by Mr. Adams, Niagara Smart Stays, Smart Stays or Executive Leasing. Mr. Adams will appear in court at 445 East Main Street in Welland, Ontario on Friday, January 10, 2020.

CA Tour International Inc. and Ping Chen
CA Tour International Inc. was charged with one (1) count of operating as a travel agent without being registered. TICO has also charged Ms. Ping Chen with one (1) count of operating as a travel agent without being registered, and one (1) count of being an Officer and Director of a Corporation and failing to take reasonable care to prevent the Corporation from committing an offence, in this case, for operating without TICO registration. It is alleged that Ms. Chen continued to operate CA Tour International Inc. after the company’s TICO registration was revoked on September 18, 2018. Ms. Chen will appear in court at 60 Queen Street West in Toronto, Ontario on Thursday, November 7, 2019.

Megan Lalancette and Moose Travel Company Ltd.
Moose Travel Company Ltd. was charged with one (1) count of operating as a travel agent without being registered. TICO also charged Ms. Megan Lalancette with one (1) count of operating as a travel agent without being registered, and one (1) count of being an Officer and Director of a Corporation and failing to take reasonable care to prevent the Corporation from committing an offence, in this case, for operating without TICO registration. It is alleged that Ms. Lalancette operated Moose Travel Company Ltd. as a travel agency and sold outdoor and adventure tours across Canada, which included both transportation and accommodations. It is alleged that the company ceased operations and consumers did not receive their tours. Some customers were only partially refunded. Ms. Lalancette will appear in court at 60 Queen Street West in Toronto, Ontario on October 10, 2019.

Hazem El Maghraby and Travel Partner International Inc.
Travel Partner International Inc. was charged with one (1) count of operating as a travel agent without being registered. TICO also charged Mr. Hazem El Maghraby with one (1) count of being an Officer and Director of a Corporation and failing to take reasonable care to prevent the Corporation from committing an offence, in this case, for operating without TICO registration.It is alleged that Travel Partner International Inc. falsely advises businesses that they are affiliated with a convention or trade show and can book discounted rooms in nearby hotels. Mr. Hazem El Maghraby will appear in court at 60 Queen Street West in Toronto, Ontario on March 19, 2020. 

February 6 update: one (1) additional charge of operating as a travel agent without registration has been laid against Travel Partner International Inc., a company headquartered in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Similarly, Mr. Hazem El Maghraby has been charged with one (1) additional count of being an Officer and Director of the Corporation and failing to take reasonable care to prevent the Corporation from committing an offence.
